COACHING

'Helping people to develop
& grow’

What is Coaching?

Getting professional support in your business is one of the wisest things you can do to help you achieve your goals.

It can feel isolating and lonely as a decision maker in a business and whilst you can make progress alone, it is so much easier when you have support.

Coaching is a process through which an individual is given support and encouragement while achieving specific goals and results. The traditional sports coach works with athletes and sports men and women helping them to build on their strengths and challenging them to ‘push the envelope’ to become the best they can be. The business world is now recognising that like the world of sport, personal coaching can bring great results. Coaching is therefore becoming more popular for businesses, as it encourages a commitment to action and leads to lasting personal development and achievement.

There are many definitions of coaching and here are just two we particularly like:
“Coaching is centred on unlocking a person’s potential to maximise his or her own performance.”
(Gallway 2002).

Coaching is….”the facilitation of learning and development with the purpose of improving performance and enhancing effective action, goal achievement, personal satisfaction and fulfilment of potential. It invariably involves growth and change, whether that be in perspective, attitude or behaviour.”
(Bluckert 2005).

Some of the benefits of coaching:
  • Higher levels of cooperation and team working
  • Improved self awareness and emotional intelligence
  • Reduced turnover / improved staff retention
  • Improved communication
  • Increased self-confidence
  • Motivation towards achieving goals

All of which leads to improved morale and engagement and employees who are more productive and deliver higher levels of customer satisfaction.

We use coaching to:
  • Support leadership and management development
  • Support personal development and career progression
  • Help you to adapt, change and grow
  •  Improve relationships, teamwork and communications
  • Improve levels of confidence and therefore improve performance
  • Increase job satisfaction
  • Help you to reach your full potential by encouraging you to set realistic, achievable goals
What to expect
We will work with you, through a series of structured conversations which will encourage you to reflect on and analyse particular situations or challenges, explore new possibilities, look at things from different perspectives and help you to discover your full potential. Your coach will do this in a non-judgmental way by asking open, enquiring questions that will enable and support you to find your own way towards your goals and encourage a commitment to action. Sessions typically last 1½ hours and the number of sessions varies depending on what you want to achieve. For example, a series of confidence coaching sessions may require up to 8 sessions in order to gain the changes in behaviors and increased levels of confidence you are seeking.
